9 Best iPhone Wallet Cases for Every Generation

- Great price
- Enough room for cards and cash
- Turns into kickstand
- Improved visual design over the first attempt
- Colors and designs are lacking
- Only iPhone 16, 17, and Air
If you have an iPhone 16 or newer, the Wallet Slayer is the best route to go for the money. Smartish’s simple iPhone case holds three cards—even a few bills, because cash is still king—while protecting your device from everyday wear and tear. Functionally, this case rocks.
Compared to most of what you'll find on Amazon, this is classier, it’s got even more drop protection, and it even has an extendable kickstand. It’s an affordable, all-in-one case that I would recommend to anyone looking for a basic wallet case. The flaw is that it may be too basic.
The black version shown here is fine, but the patterned options are ... a choice. Customizability is nice, but for my money, I’d just spend a bit more for something that looks a bit more put together.
Compatibility: All iPhone 17 and 16 models, iPhone Air
| Card Slot | Up to 3 cards plus cash |
| MagSafe Compatibility | No |
| Protection | Drop-tested 50 times from 6 feet |
- Simple look
- Inconspicuous design
- Great colors
- On the pricey side
Call it the best wallet case that doesn't look like a wallet case. Bellroy’s three-card case tucks the cards into the side and hides them from sight—it’s inconspicuous, shall we say, which is a very good thing here. Even more enticing is the eco-tanned leather, which comes in shades from lagoon to lemon to terra-cotta—a welcome break from all the neutral leathers of the iPhone-case world.
While it might not be the most luxe (and it doesn't offer more storage capacity than the average wallet case) Bellroy’s option is undeniably the most functional on this list. If you’re worried about having your stuff displayed on the back of your case, this is the best for keeping it all tucked away.
| Card Slot | Up to 3 cards |
| MagSafe Compatibility | No |
| Protection | Eco-tanned leather and polymer |

- RFID-blocking case with military-grade drop protection
- Wide compatibility with phones going back to the iPhone 11
- Holds four cards
- Can be magnetically car mounted
- On the bulky side
- No iPhone Air option
Here is another extremely secure wallet case that is on the functional side. It’s not going to win any awards for style, but that hasn’t stopped the Wingman from being one of the top sellers on Amazon. When you search for wallet cases on the site, it’s right there at the top.
The unique bottom-loading form factor does Scooch a lot of favors. It fits up to four cards and will ensure that both the phone and wallet parts of your wallet phone case will survive a drop. It’s not compatible with MagSafe charging, but it will attach to any non-MagSafe magnetic car mount.
Compatibility: All iPhone 17, 16, 15, 14, 13, 12, and 11 models.
| Card Slot | Up to 4 cards |
| MagSafe Compatibility | No |
| Protection | EXO-D Impact technology |
- Supports more old phones than the competitors do
- Inconspicuous design keeps cards hidden
- Modern models are pretty slim
- Not available for iPhone 16 or 17
- Not really any space for cash
Here’s another case we’ve loved for years that has yet to see an update for the modern generation of phones. Still, we can’t help but recommend it to those looking for a safe and secure wallet case for a nearly retired iPhone.
This “slim armor” from Spigen uses polycarbonate to create a sturdier—and more sustainable—alternative to leather. It feels pretty good in the hand, not at all like cheap plastic. Ironically, it’s pretty affordable. And the sliding card case might not have the most space, but it is so inconspicuously designed that you may as well just forget they’re in there.
Compatibility: 15 Pro Max, 15 Pro, 15, 14 Pro Max, 14 Pro, 14, 13, 13 Pro, 12/12 Pro, 11, XR. SE/7/8
| Card Slot | Up to 2 cards |
| MagSafe Compatibility | No |
| Protection | Dual layers and air cushion |

- Leather tones down the aggressive OtterBox look
- Supports models back to the iPhone 12
- Looks great for a folio wallet
- Bulky
- Not compatible with iPhone 16 or newer
Here’s the truth: Not everyone reading this will have a brand-new iPhone 17 Pro Max. That’s just not realistic. That’s why we still put the time and energy into recommending this awesome folio despite it not yet having a model that fits the newest line of iPhone. If you are still rocking a 13, 14, or 15 model of iPhone, the Strada is one of our all-time favorites.
OtterBox’s folio folds open to reveal a slot to hold a couple cards or money. And when the transaction’s over, a magnetic latch holds the flap closed over the screen for extra protection. It’s tough to make a folio case actually look good, but OtterBox has done it. Dressed up in black leather, it looks really sharp. Add to that OtterBox’s military-standard drop testing and you’ve got an incredible folio wallet.
Compatibility: 15 Pro Max, 15 Pro, 15, 14 Pro Max, 14 Pro, 14 Plus, 14, 13, 13 Pro.
| Card Slot | 2 card slots and 1 cash slot |
| MagSafe Compatibility | Yes |
| Protection | Military-grade drop protection |
- Beautiful leather construction
- Gives you the flexibility of when and where to use the MagSafe wallet
- Works for MagSafe charging
- Only available for a limited number of phone models
- Doesn’t hold a ton of cards
A good-looking wallet case probably should fall somewhere in the spectrum of minimalist and luxury, not colorful and gaudy. This handsome wallet case with a satin finish has that minimalist luxury feel that’ll catch your eyes at first glance. And it’s very durable, made with tanned vegetable leather and microfiber lining.
Technically, the wallet and case are separate here. Which we love because it lets us slip it off to charge our phone wirelessly. It doesn't change the fact that of all the iPhone wallet cases I’ve held, Mujjo’s has felt the most luxury. It's also has got the most questions and compliments.
Compatibility: iPhone 17 Pro, 17 Pro Max, 16 Pro Max, 15 Pro, 15 Pro Max, 14 Pro, 14 Pro Max, 14 and 13
| Card Slot | Up to 2 cards |
| MagSafe Compatibility | Yes |
| Protection | Raised camera and screen edges |

- A lot of storage space
- Option for nicer Horween leather
- Regular model is a bit lacking compared with the Horween version
Nomad’s Modern Folio is very nearly a wallet itself, what with all the space for up to three cards and a pocket slot for cash (or whatever else you need to store). But it keeps it all compact in a dandy leather casing, with ten-foot drop protection to boot. You’ll love holding it in your hands and feeling the texture. And it is compatible with MagSafe, too.
Compatibility: All iPhone 17, 16, 15, 14, 13 models, 12 Pro, 12 mini
| Card Slot | 3 cards and 1 cash slot |
| MagSafe Compatibility | Yes |
| Protection | 10-foot drop protection |
- Snap closure makes for easy access
- Leather feels great
- Love the colors
- Quite limited options and some are sold out
- Can't be attached to Bandolier straps
We have to hand it to Bandolier for figuring out another solution for how to store your cards securely. The snap enclosure on the back allows you to hold a couple cards, a wad of cash, receipts, really anything you want without losing it. It's an innovative design within an already excellent genuine leather phone case. We love it in every color, many of which are frequently sold out online.
Aside from limited availability online, the big issue here is that just because you can stuff it full, doesn't mean you should. Over-packers beware, this wallet is best kept slim when you have 2 cards or one folded $20 bill in there.
Compatibility: iPhone 16, 16 Pro, 16 Pro Max, 15 Pro, 15 Pro Max, 14 Pro Max
| Card Slot | Up to 3 cards |
| MagSafe Compatibility | No |
| Protection | 100% genuine smooth leather |

- Two single-card inserts keeps the case slim
- Comes in every phone style you can imagine
- Decent look for the price
- Doesn't support wireless charging
- Low capacity
If affordable and unobtrusive are what you're looking for, the Suteni from Casebus checks both boxes. It's a wallet case that stays slim by giving you two tight offset card slots. It feels nice in the hand, even if it can't carry very much. The best part is there are a lot of different finishes to choose from. Plus, the selection goes all the way back to the iPhone 6 era, so no matter which iPhone you have, you can probably find the Suteni in your style.
Compatibility: All iPhones
| Card Slot | 2 Cards |
| MagSafe Compatibility | No |
| Protection | 4-corner, side and raised lip all-round protection |

Generally, we say yes. An iPhone wallet case is a great accessory to have, as it bridges those gaps when you don’t want to bring out your full wallet or just don’t need anything besides a credit card and ID. If you go for a run, head to the gym, head to the pool, etc., you don’t need a full wallet. Having a way to reasonably bring essentials only is always convenient, for literally anyone.

- MagSafe Compatibility: If you insist on using MagSafe accessories or any newer-gen device equipped with Qi-enabled charging, keep in mind that a wallet case might get in the way of your wireless experience. But thankfully, quite a few iPhone card-holder cases on our list do not interrupt MagSafe’s magic and thus pave the way for wireless charging even with the case—and cards—on. But for others, those magnets are just too big for both, and you’ll have to detach the case for wireless charging or just charge with a cord, which isn’t that repulsive of an idea.
- Card-Slot Capacity: Some manufacturers straight-up provide a limit as to how many cards you can put in there, and some just tell you the amount of card slots for you to test the limit.
- Looks: Even the most function-over-form of us care about style deep down. It’s not the biggest part of your look, but getting a nice-looking iPhone wallet will give you a little treat every time you pull it out.
- Build Quality: But if you really do only care about function, consider the materials of your iPhone wallet. Is it plastic? Rubber? Leather? If it’s leather, where is it from? Are there tiered options? Etc., etc.
- iPhone Model: Apple insists on the subtlest twists for each of its new releases—a decimal difference in dimension or camera bump. That’s something we just have to put up with. Hence, never be so innocent that you think you can just carry your iPhone 13 wallet case over to an iPhone 14. Always check the size of each model—you’d be surprised by how they’re often a small world apart.

We’ve been testing products for years—or decades, collectively—and it’s allowed us to recommend the best tech worth your hard-earned money. Simply, we know what’s good. More complicatedly, we know all the weird jargon and do all the testing that you don’t need to worry about. We compile our guides by performing heavy research and testing, and the gadgets we choose to award are what we’d spend our own money on.
