A$AP Rocky Is the CFDA’s 2025 Fashion Icon

A$AP Rocky is having quite the year. Our October 2025 cover star recently welcomed Rocki Irish Mayers, his third child with his partner Rihanna; starred in If I Had Legs I’d Kick You and Spike Lee’s Highest 2 Lowest, and now has been officially named the CFDA’s 2025 Fashion Icon.

“A$AP Rocky is a fashion icon in the purest form,” said Thom Browne, chairman of the CFDA, in a statement. “He is one of a kind...his truly original approach to fashion inspires me, and so many, to think differently.”

The honor, which will be presented at the 2025 CFDA Awards on November 3, comes as no surprise for the sartorial star. He and Rihanna were some of the first to hard-launch Jonathan Anderson’s debut for Dior Men—the power couple arrived to the show in Paris with looks that paid homage to Jean-Michel Basquiat, an inspiration for the collection. (Their kids RZA and Riot also already wore custom Dior by Jonathan Anderson on the red carpet.) The Ray-Ban and Puma creative director has always been at the forefront of fashion, first pioneering his own unique style and then founding his own creative agency and line, AWGE, which has gone on to partner with brands including Marine Serre, JW Anderson, and more.

As much as it’s been a whirlwind year, filled with jet-setting from fashion week to Cannes, fatherhood is what the star is focusing on the most, saying that he wants to be totally present with his family, no matter what. “What’s really fly is raising a family, bro, and loving them. Being there,” he told ELLE. He adds that he and Rihanna also keep their business outside the home: “When you come home, it’s about family. It’s about your relationship. It’s about your household. It ain’t about all that other shit.” Now, the two can look forward to raising their newborn daughter alongside their already stylish sons.
