All Creatures Great and Small star makes series announcement as he teases 'more news later'

All Creatures Great and Small: New trailer for Channel 5 show
The beloved cast of All Creatures Great and Small are diving right back into the action as they commence filming for the much-anticipated sixth series, which has now been given the green light.
There was a buzz on social media when Samuel West, who brings the character Siegfried Farnon to life in the Channel 5 retake of the treasured veterinary drama, shared a warming post online.
This morning (February 24), the actor unveiled a snapshot of a clapperboard, revealing that production for the new episodes had already started.
Samuel broke the news to his followers on X - the platform formerly known as Twitter - writing: "Thanks for your kind comments about #AllCreaturesGreatAndSmall Season Five. Never long enough... Sad that it's over, but we hope this will raise spirits; we started filming Season Six today, " he left fans eagerly anticipating more, as he also dropped a hint: "More news later."
He wasn't the only one stirring up a storm on social media, with the show's official Twitter account posting the identical clapperboard shot along with its own announcement, reports Lancs Live.
With the same image in tow, the thrilling update was declared: "Attention #ACGAS fans. Exciting news the cast and crew have officially kicked off filming for Season 6 in beautiful Yorkshire today! We can't wait to return to Darrowby with all of you soon."
Within moments, the comment section was awash with joyous reactions, as one fan exclaimed: "Brilliant news," while another fervently commented: "Great! Can't wait to see the new seasons in a few months."
Fans carried on the cheers as another person chimed: "Fabulous love this programme, can not wait," while another eagerly applauded the show, commenting: "So exciting such a long wait" and someone else hailed it as: "The best show on TV."
Though there's been no word on a release date yet, but based on past patterns, the new episodes might arrive in autumn.
The last time we visited the 1940s, Yorkshire Dales, James Herriot returned from his RAF training, reuniting with his beloved Helen and their little one Jimmy.
However, amid the happy family reunion, there was a twist of fate: James found himself sidelined due to health issues, with brucellosis ending his military dreams.
Meanwhile, Mrs. Hall stepped up as blackout warden to contribute to the war effort, Richard Carmody received a tempting offer from Imperial College London, and Siegfried couldn't hide his joy at Tristan's return to Darrowby.
All Creatures Great and Small is currently available on MY5 and series six will be back on Channel 5 at some point in the autumn.
