Broadcasting personality Amanda Holden has disclosed that her daughters are reluctant listeners when she's on the radio, as she frequently reveals intimate family secrets during her shows.

Amanda presents the Heart FM Breakfast Show alongside Jamie Theakston from 6:30am until 10am, and has admitted that her daughters are typically compelled to listen because her husband Chris Hughes switches on the radio during car journeys.

The 54-year-old was speaking on the Tea at Four podcast about her efforts to raise daughters Lexi and Hollie to be resilient and industrious, before declaring they show no enthusiasm for her showbiz career.

Nevertheless, this hasn't prevented occasional confrontations, including a recent incident when Amanda broadcast her eldest daughter Lexi's boyfriend's name to the nation.

She revealed: "I'm trying to bring my girls up to be strong and hard-working. They both have no interest in anything I do, they're p****d off with me all the time."

When questioned whether they tune into her programme, Amanda responded: "Only because my husband puts it on in the car on the school run, otherwise they just wouldn't, and they hate it because I mention them a lot.

"I dropped my daughter's boyfriend's name into the public arena. She was like, she's at uni, she was like, 'Mummy, did...get a mention this morning?', 'Yeah and I mentioned his mum!' I love doing shout-outs."

The Britain's Got Talent panellist has encouraged her daughters to develop toughness should they pursue careers in the public eye in future. The Inner Circle presenter recently revealed to The Sun: "You do have to develop a thick skin and they both know that Mummy has one and that we take everything with a pinch of salt in our house.

"So I hope they've learnt enough from me. Because, obviously, there's been moments around the dinner table and they've heard things and watched things, but they're quite disinterested in me and my career."

While Amanda has been nurturing her relationship with her daughters, her household has recently expanded with the addition of a rescue cat to her Cobham, Surrey residence.

The feline newcomer joins existing pet Muffy and two rescue dogs, Minnie and Rudy, as members of the Holden family. Posting a picture of the latest addition on social media, Amanda revealed: "Our lovely rescue from Corfu is settling down and the dogs are quite chilled! Princess Muffy has deigned to come downstairs a few times and sniff about but is still making her displeasure heard!

"We've named him Bolt because he's super quick! And can climb over the six foot gate we put in the kitchen door to keep him safe! There are lots of strays in the world, including our country- they are everywhere but there are so many amazing people doing their best to help.

"If you feel like donating to Corfu...please click on my stories where you will find the link to a registered UK Charity who divvy up funds raised between a lot of shelters that need help in Corfu."

Amanda presents The Celebrity Inner Circle tonight (October 18th) on BBC One at 5.45pm.
