Emmerdale fans 'solve' why Caleb really ends up in hospital after Cain scene

The truth about Caleb Miligan's looming hospital dash on Emmerdale could soon be exposed, according to a new theory.

The latest episode of the ITV soap on Monday night may have dropped a major hint about why Caleb is left in a bad way. A recent flashforward showed the character flatlining in hospital with his fate not confirmed.

Now, fans are speculating whether it could tie in with a threat by his brother Cain Dingle on the ITV soaps. Others are sure it could be linked to another twist on the show, following a secret murder being revealed.

On Monday we saw warring brothers Caleb and Cain at each other's throats again. As they and a handful of others continue to cover up Anthony Fox's murder, Caleb was rumbled for his revenge on Cain for sleeping with his wife Ruby Miligan.

Cain swore to Caleb that if he pulled another stunt like that, having tried to frame him for the death, he'd kill him. He told Caleb he'd "end up like Anthony", clearly threatening to murder his own sibling.

Now, fans are wondering whether this foreshadowed what was ahead amid a devastating twist. Last week viewers found out there was a body in the lake, and it was very likely Nate Robinson who had been killed.

Cain's son Nate left the show back in September in weird circumstances, and now it seems someone secretly killed him and dumped his body in the lake. Some fans are suspecting Caleb killed his nephew after their run-ins.

One new theory is that Cain will find out Caleb killed his son and will take a brutal revenge, just like he threatened to do on Monday night. So will Cain attack Caleb and leave him fighting for his life in hospital?

One theory on social media read: "I reckon the flash forward of Caleb flatlining in hospital is because he killed Nate, Cain finds out and puts him in a coma." Another fan agreed: "Is Cain at Nate's graveside and is that the reason Caleb in hospital? Because Cain found out he killed his son?"

A similar theory linked to Nate was shared again by another fan who said: "Could Nate’s murder have something to do with the drug dealers he helped the police catch when he worked as a driver for Caleb? That could be why Caleb ends up in hospital, too."

That said, some fans remained convinced Nate's real killer is John Sugden, and maybe John targets Caleb next. The theory said: "Soooo that flash forward with Caleb in hospital...... is it killer John's doing then?"
