Inside Emmerdale's Rich Thompson actor Joshua John's life including music star connection

Emmerdale's latest addition, Rich Thompson, has stirred up trouble in the village and has found himself as the main suspect in Noah Dingle's drug-spiking mystery.

Emmerdale newcomer Rich entered the village as a friend of Jacob Gallagher's (Joe-Warren Plant) but instantly landed his mate in hot water with his mum Leyla Harding (Roxy Shahidi). When Jacob was found with drugs in his coat pocket, Leyla was left furious before discovering they belonged to Rich.

He's also been making moves on Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper), leading to speculation among viewers that the two could be 'walking down the aisle within months.'

However, following the disastrous limo crash last week, Rich finds himself at the centre of the drama, where he is accused of spiking Noah Dingle (Jack Downham).

In forthcoming scenes, Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) and Belle interrogate Rich on his drug use and accuse him of spiking Noah, which sparked the limo to crash and caused the death of Leyla, Amy Barton (Natalie Ann Jamieson), and Suzy Merton (Martelle Edinborough), reports Leeds Live.

Away from the ITV soap, the role of Rich is a big break for upcoming actor Joshua John.

Rich's introduction to the soap was announced by Revolution Talent, who represent the budding actor. They took to Instagram to share: "Joshua John plays Rich in Emmerdale, a plucky and confident student doctor, friends with Emmerdale's Jacob Gallagher."

Emmerdale marks a significant milestone for Joshua, serving as his big break in television.

Prior to this, he showcased his acting skills on stage, featuring in productions of Romeo and Juliet and The Merchant of Venice, among other projects.

He also appeared in the music video for Leon Bridges' song Why Don't You Touch Me, as noted by IMDb.

Joshua's Instagram feed provides a glimpse into his exciting life, featuring photos from his holiday getaway to Montenegro and a unique behind-the-scenes look at the renowned Globe Theatre during his time in the production of Romeo and Juliet.

Additionally, Joshua has shared a few snippets from his time working on the popular soap opera Emmerdale. Alongside images taken at the show's Leeds studio, Joshua commented: "I had way too much fun working on this."
