Princess Diana's butler gives verdict on Meghan Markle's brand 'Make no mistake'

Former royal butler, Paul Burrell, has shared his thoughts on Meghan Markle's business ventures. The Duchess of Sussex recently launched her own lifestyle brand, As Ever, as she sells her own products including jams and wine.

She also recently launched a Netflix series, called With Love, Meghan. It allows fans to get a glimpse into her home life with her husband, Prince Harry, making a cameo in the first season. But now, the former butler of the late Princess Diana has said that "this is just the beginning" of Meghan's entrepreneurship. The 67-year-old shared his belief that Meghan could branch out even further in the future and people could even end up "smelling like her". Speaking to Express.co.uk, on behalf of Casino.org, Paul said: "This is an empire just beginning. Make no mistake, she will go into fashion, into jewellery, maybe have her own perfume." He then quipped: 'You, too, can smell like Meghan Markle.' I wonder what that would be like?"

However, in a previous interview with the Mirror, Burrell sent a warning to Markle. "Meghan wanted to be famous. Now she has that, but be careful what you wish for, because sometimes it's not all it seems," he said. "Diana found that out at an early age."

Paul worked as Princess Diana’s butler until her death in 1997. Speaking to Express.co.uk, he explained how her death impacted him.

He shared: "When she passed, I was lost, completely lost. So lost that my marriage to my wife disintegrated. I thought I was losing everything in my world with other traumas happening to me at the same time."

However, he believes that the former Princess of Wales is still often by his side. He recalled appearing on Celebrity Help! My House Is Haunted where Paul claims that Diana told him she was happy.

He said: "Diana always said to me, watch out for the signposts in life. You will see them. You may not always read them, and you may not always understand them, but they're there. When you see them, act on them. Don't think this is just random, they are there for a reason.

"I was thinking of her words as I was recording Celebrity Help! My House Is Haunted in my house. That’s why I asked, 'Are you happy?' and 'Did you send Graham?' [Paul's husband]. Once I had asked these questions, they recorded the room and replayed the audio at a different speed and different frequency."

Paul continued: "When they play it back you hear my question, 'Are you happy?' and through the white noise, I heard 'yes', and I thought, Is this a trick? Is it something I don't understand? Then I heard my second question 'Did you send Graham to me?' And then I heard her giggle. I heard the giggle I knew so well and 'possibly'. It was her voice."
