Raye as British Vogue’s October 2025 Cover Girl Feels Like a Total Non-Event

British Vogue is a shadow of its former self, and the covers of the once-great magazine just don’t quite hit like they once did. Ever since Edward Enninful left and Chioma Nnadi became head of editorial content, covers starring everyone from Doechii and Dua Lipa to Billie Eilish and Bella Ramsey have been declared a total flop. Not even Michaela Coel on last month’s September issue was enough to win us over. Up next on the cover of British Vogue is Raye, who covers the October 2025 edition of the magazine. The British singer-songwriter makes her Vogue cover debut via the lens of the photographer Malick Bodian. Styled by Ib Kamara, the Brit Award-winning artist blows kisses to her adoring fans in the cover shot, wearing a look from Daniel Roseberry’s Schiaparelli.

“Oh, that’s terrible. An outtake if I ever saw one,” critiqued KoV immediately.
“JESUS… This is TRAGIC!” exclaimed DK92.
“Oh, I so wanted to like this. How unfortunate…” sighed aracic.
Vogue28 ranted: “Star power? British Vogue lost its star power when Edward Enninful exited the building. This magazine is a shadow of its former self and only continues to sink lower and lower. The paparazzi concept is so cheesy and very poorly executed. A truly awful non-event of a cover,” they noted.
“Can someone scrape Chioma’s tongue? Her sense of taste needs to be cleansed,” crmsn laughed.
“Imagine if Raye had been shot by someone like Rafael Pavarotti or someone with a good use of colour. This is Grazia level,” chimed in forum member Kite.
Mikel used the word “horrible” to describe the cover, but do you agree?
