You Might Just Love (or Loathe) Jenna Ortega on the Summer 2025 Covers of Harper’s Bazaar…

We’ve still got an extreme love/hate relationship with Samira Nasr’s Harper’s Bazaar. Nasr succeeded the long-serving Glenda Bailey as editor-in-chief of the Hearst-owned on publication in 2020, and it has been a roller coaster of emotions ever since. Six months into 2025 and covers starring the likes of Zoe Saldaña and Linda Evangelista have felt like missed opportunities. On the flip side, we’ve fawned over the likes of Rihanna and Anok Yai as cover girls. Up next on the cover of Harper’s Bazaar for Summer 2025 is Jenna Ortega. Fresh from the cover of V Magazine, the 22-year-old American actress poses before the lens of photographer Willy Vanderperre. Paul Sinclaire was called upon for styling duties. In the first official newsstand cover (below), Ortega wears a pink cutout dress and pumps from Demna’s Fall 2025 Balenciaga collection while donning a Hermès pullover for the second black and white alternative cover (after the jump).

“Great to see Willy Vanderperre work for an American edition. The headshot cover is definitely the stronger option and my favorite,” shared MModa upon first look.

“Wow, the cover is quite different than what I expected. I like it!” KoV approved.

Sharing the same sentiments was GivenchyAddict. “It works better than I thought. So kudos to them!” they congratulated.

“Love the second cover!” exclaimed mikel.

“Beautiful portrait. Jenna Ortega is usually a great model/subject,” chimed in miyawaki.

Yet not everyone was a fan. “How can anyone take Willy Vanderperre’s boring studio pictures seriously?” asked a dumbfounded 90sfan.

“What awful photography from Willy Vanderperre here, and even worse styling from Paul Sinclaire. Two equally as hideous covers. Samira Nasr and team must’ve thought they were really doing something with that black and white cover but it’s atrocious,” voiced vogue28.
