'Over my dead body!' Brexiteer warns Boris Johnson must never be allowed to join Reform

Boris Johnson is to blame for the country’s demise and should never be allowed to join Reform, according to a top Brexiteer. Belinda de Lucy blasted the former prime minister as responsible for increasing migration to record levels.
The Reform Party member dismissed calls by defector Nadine Dorries for Mr Johnson and Nigel Farage to strike a deal to keep Labour out at the next election. Ms de Lucy told the Daily Expresso, our weekday news show: “I see Boris as absolutely one of the most responsible for the mass immigration increases into the country, the net zero lunacy.” She went on: “There was a lot when you look into the detail of what Boris actually did in government, he was the mastermind behind the unmaking of England as we are witnessing it now.”
Around 1.3million new arrivals were recorded in Britain in 2023. Shadow Justice Secretary Robert Jenrick said the points-based system that led to it was “the worst policy mistake of my lifetime”.
Ms de Lucy raised concerns about Ms Dorries becoming the latest Tory to join Reform.
The former MEP added: “She's not got a position in the centre of power. She is just a member. She has just defected and changed her membership.
“I definitely have concerns because I don't want Boris anywhere near Reform, but I don't think it's going to go that way.
“I think anyone is welcome as a member. And I wish Nadine well, but absolutely no Boris on my watch. Over my dead body.”
