Unbelievable Black Friday broadband offer gives you six months service for free

It’s not often you can get something for nothing, but that is what one broadband provider is offering as part of its eye-catching Black Friday sale. Community Fibre is giving away six months of fibre broadband service free of charge when you sign up to any of its 12- or 24-month contracts.
Granted, you do pay something given you’ll pay for at least the remaining six or eighteen months on your contract after you’ve got six months free. But still.
Available with 100Mbps, 300Mbps, 500Mbps, 1Gbps or 2.5Gbps speeds, you’ll pay £0 for the first six months, with no set up fee either. Then from month seven you’ll pay the advertised price until a mid-contract price rise of £2 applied in April 2027, rising by the same amount each year until your contract ends.
Make sure to check how much the out of contract cost will be after the initial term, too.
Community Fibre is a so-called ‘altnet’, which is short for ‘alternative network’, a term used to describe a challenger to the incumbent network providers such as BT and Virgin Media. Community Fibre, which operates solely in London, servicing all its boroughs, builds and maintains its own network, so does not use the BT-owned Openreach fibre network that many providers do.
Even without this six months free Black Friday deal, the firm’s prices are competitive. Signing up to its 1Gbps full fibre plan costs £27 per month after the free six months. BT’s comparable 900Mbps plan costs £37.99 per month, with an increase of £3 per year.
To see if you are in Community Fibre’s catchment area - and the firm assures me that if you live in London, you should be - head over to the company’s website and enter your postcode to see which services are available in your area.
“We won’t be beaten on price by any of the national providers,” Community Fibre says on its website, and it appears to be undercutting them with the prices of its current services.
With BT’s 900Mbps at £37.99 per month, Virgin Media is currently charging £29.99 for its Gig1 service while Vodafone’s 910Mbps service is £32.
Community Fibre charges £34 per month for its 1Gbps fibre broadband if you sign up to a short 12 month contact, the higher price reflecting the length of commitment. Double it to 24 months, and the service costs just £27 per month.
And remember both those prices are only from the seventh month in the current six months free service deal.
Best of all, this site-wide Black Friday deal is on until it ends on December 2, 2025, leaving you ample time to get signed up to the best one for you.
