Arsenal fans fear they will have to give title rivals Liverpool a guard of honour - after Reds moved 11 points clear at the top of the table with Man City win

Arsenal fans have been left fearing that they will have to give Liverpool a guard of honour when the two sides clash in May.
Arne Slot's Reds moved 11 points clear at the summit of the Premier League table after a convincing 2-0 win over Manchester City on Sunday evening.
Goals from Mohammed Salah and Dominik Szoboszlai wrapped up the win for the visitors, who created some much-needed breathing room between themselves and second-place Arsenal.
The Gunners have spent yet another campaign chasing the Premier League leaders, having previously fallen in short in the last two seasons.
And fears are emerging amongst the fanbase that, should they fail to overtake Liverpool, they will end up giving the Reds a guard of honour when they clash in May.
Mikel Arteta's side will travel to Anfield on May 10th, where there will be just three matches remaining in the season.

Liverpool have moved 11 points clear at the top of the table after beating Man City 2-0

Arsenal previously gave Liverpool a guard of honour during the 2019-2020 campaign
By that point, the Reds could have already wrapped up the league title - meaning that Arsenal would have to give them a guard of honour.
It would be the second time in recent years that Arsenal would have done so, having also provided a guard of honour back in 2020.
After sealing a historic league title, Liverpool - then managed by Jurgen Klopp - travelled to the Emirates and were given the guard of honour pre-match.
Reacting to the news of that Arsenal may have to do it again, one fan wrote: 'We might have to give a Liverpool a guard of honour' accompanied with a GIF of a man looking disappointed.
Another said: 'We're gonna give Liverpool a guard of honour after finishing second 3 seasons in a row'.
Meanwhile, some Liverpool fans were quick to get into the reactions and took pleasure in the frustrations of the Arsenal supporters.
'I just remembered that Arteta already gave us a guard of honour once, and he will probably do it again in gameweek 36 at Anfield. 2 guards of honour, 0 PL titles'.
Another wrote: 'Saka hopefully fit enough in time to give us the guard of honour'.

Meanwhile, Liverpool fans rejoiced in the possibility in a guard of honour from their rivals
Meanwhile, Gary Neville tore into Arsenal after their defeat by West Ham and argued that an 'obsession' with one facet of their game has left them woefully lacking in the Premier League title race.
He compared their seeming failure to capture the title to the 2015-16 season, when Leicester ran away with it and the expected contenders went out with a whimper.
'Arsenal have become quite rigid, quite turgid to watch at times,' the Manchester United legend said on the Gary Neville Podcast.
'This obsession with set-pieces overtaking the whole game, exacerbated by the presence of the set-piece coach (Nicolas Jover) on the touchline and it puts more focus on set-pieces.
'And I know that they've lost (Bukayo) Saka, (Gabriel) Jesus, and (Kai) Havertz, which are big blows and that is a big problem for Arsenal, but I still feel they have to do the job against West Ham at home'.
