A minor hurling final in Tipperary was shrouded in controversy last Monday when one of the participating teams didn't show up.

Kiladangan were crowned county Division 2 League champions after their opponents Roscrea failed to appear for the June Bank Holiday Monday decider in Toomevara.

After referee John Lillis threw in the ball, Kiladangan midfielder and captain Eoin Kelly soled half of the length of the field unopposed before pucking the sliotar into an empty net. The final whistle then sounded and Kelly was presented with the Division 2 League Shield by Tipperary Coiste na nÓg chairperson PJ Bowden.

According to Tipperary Live, Roscrea had emailed the county board an hour before throw-in saying they wouldn't be fielding, but the final still went ahead without them.
