Shaun Patton is in a race against time to be fit for Donegal’s All-Ireland SFC Group 1 opener against neighbours Tyrone in Ballybofey on Saturday.
The highly-rated goalkeeper is a major doubt after sustaining an ankle injury in the closing stages of last Saturday week's Ulster SFC final against Armagh which Donegal won after extra-time to secure back-to-back Anglo-Celt Cups.
Patton left Clones with his foot in a protective boot and could be replaced by Gavin Mulready who, ironically, has played against Tyrone already this year in the Allianz League.
