Davy Fitzgerald is set to meet Antrim chairman Seamus McMullan in the next week or two to discuss his future with the Saffrons.

The much-travelled Sixmilebridge man was appointed among much fanfare last year, but the 2025 campaign ended in disappointment when Antrim surrendered their Liam MacCarthy Cup status.

Speaking at the launch of the 24th annual All-Ireland GAA Challenge in Michael Lyng Motors, Kilkenny, Fitzgerald said he's 'very confident' he can make progress if does decide to stay on for another year.

“Would I be disappointed in myself if I didn’t do a second one? I would," he told the assembled media.

“But health-wise, family-wise, I want to do the right thing — whatever that right thing is.

“In the last week or so, I’ve started to really think about it. Over this next 10 days, I will and I’ll try and do the right thing.

“But the right thing has a few different factors. That’s genuine.”
