'Defensively Liverpool are starting to creak a bit at the back,' Carragher said on Sky Sports.
'They're one injury away from having a problem. I think Arsenal are better defensively but Liverpool are a lot better going forwards.'
The Gunners are the only side in the Premier League to have conceded fewer goals than Liverpool this season, with 23 compared to the Reds' 26.
However, injuries to Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz have left Mikel Arteta's side without a recognised striker to call upon.
