KSI sends private message to Wayne Bridge after 'smash your ex' insult

KSI has apologised to Wayne Bridge after his controversial comments led to the ex-footballer pulling out of their boxing fight.
The YouTuber-turned-boxer originally agreed to face Bridge next month in Manchester, but the former Chelsea and Manchester City full-back withdrew from the bout after the social media star taunted him about his ex-girlfriend and her alleged affair with former teammate John Terry.
Both men went nose-to-nose in the centre of the ring at last month's Misfits event in Manchester and KSI quickly sparked chaos. Bridge previously dated French model Vanessa Perroncel while playing for Chelsea. That relationship broke down amid allegations that Terry allegedly had an affair with Perroncel, who denies the claim.
KSI wanted to use that to get under his rival's skin. "Aren't you the guy that let John Terry smash your ex?" Bridge fired back: "You want to go there straightaway do you?" KSI continued: "I'm pretty sure that's what you're known for." The Sidemen member then shockingly started a chant of 'Vanessa woah, Vanessa woah'. Just weeks after the shocking scenes, the 31-year-old has revealed he has sent Bridge a private message.
Speaking on his podcast, he explained that he was playing the bad-guy role in a bid to help sell PPVs before revealing that he sent Bridge a message of apology: "I privately DM'd him. And the thing is, I messaged him like, 'Bro, I'm not a d*** head...' But we're selling the fight and I thought he should know that."
He then added: "Wayne Bridge, I'm sorry. I've told you in DMs anyway but yeah, my bad." The 31-year-old is now scheduled to take on MMA fighter Dillon Danis at Misfits 21 in Manchester. The pair were due to go head-to-head two years ago, but the American pulled out just a week before the fight.
KSI hasn't fought since losing to Tommy Fury back in October 2023. Despite having a back ground in MMA, Danis does have some experience inside the boxing ring after facing Logan Paul two years ago. Speaking about the upcoming cruiserweight dust-up, KSI said: KSI: "Now ladies and gentlemen, I get my hands on him for real. Obviously, Misfits 3 I was meant to fight him and then he pulled out and I had to fight Temper instead.
"That brother ain’t pulling out this time because that boy is getting sued by Logan Paul and obviously he needs to pay for the court proceedings. So he needs all the money he can get and you know what? I’m quite excited to get to be the first person to knock out Dillon Danis. I think it’s going to be a fantastic day when it happens.”
