Louth ace Kate Flood went out on the ultimate high after helping her county to clinch the All-Ireland ladies junior football championship title this afternoon.

Flood scored four points in her team’s 0-13 to 1-8 victory over Antrim at Croke Park, sealing a record fourth All-Ireland JFC success for the Wee County along with promotion to the intermediate ranks.

Speaking to media afterwards, the St Patrick's clubwoman confirmed that the win, which marks her third All-Ireland junior crown, would be her last game in an inter-county jersey.

"It's something I've obviously thought about and yeah it's not an easy one for me to say, but this is kind of my last outing for Louth and I'm very proud of it,” Flood told LMFM Sport afterwards.

I'm not going to get emotional now, I've done enough crying, but it's been an absolute privilege to be able to put on the county jersey and run out with the girls that have been there - and the previous girls.

But but there's savage talent coming through Louth and I just wish them all the best."

Having made her debut back in 2010, and giving many years of service to @LouthLGFA, Kate Flood has announced her retirement following today’s @LadiesFootball Junior success.
