Meath manager questions winning free

Meath boss Robbie Brennan was gracious in defeat following the Leinster SFC final.
However, he couldn’t but question the decision to award Conal McKeever the late free from outside the ’45 which Sam Mulroy converted for a two-pointer to edge Louth back in front. After a period of ‘keep ball’, attacking wing back Craig Lennon added the insurance point to seal the Wee County’s first provincial title in 68 years.
“Yeah, straight out, disappointed,” Brennan told the assembled media at Croke Park.
“It’s on the TV, you can see it’s not a foul. But listen, they’re fine margins and we said it at half-time, the one percent margins as the rugby boys will always say is what you need to go after.
“And a few of them fell Louth’s way, but that’s not to take away from how well they played. Listen, we’re frustrated with some of them, but I’m sure we got a couple that bounced our way as well. You have to go with it.”
