Nine players who could leave Liverpool as Arne Slot sweats on big name stars

As many as NINE senior players could leave Liverpool at the end of Arne Slot's first season at the helm.
The Reds have enjoyed a dream 2024-25 campaign to date under Slot, who has them in pole position to win both the Premier League and the Carabao Cup.
But whatever the coming months may bring, it seems as though the winds of change will blow through Anfield this summer. And that could give the Dutchman the opportunity to put his own stamp on the playing squad he inherited from Jurgen Klopp.
Trent Alexander-Arnold, Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk are all out of contract in the summer and may leave - and they could be joined by plenty of other big names.
Alexander-Arnold is being fervently pursued by Real Madrid. The Spanish giants are increasingly confident that the right-back will move to the Bernabeu and link up with close pal Jude Bellingham. He's set to increase his current Kop salary and be handed a huge signing bonus should he move to the Spanish capital.
Salah and Van Dijk are currently believed to be more likely to stay put after being offered new deals by the Reds, although nothing is agreed as it stands. Salah continues to be pursued by the Saudi Pro League, while a number of European clubs are keeping tabs on Van Dijk's situation. However, it's believed that the preferred option of both is to stay put.
It could be a different story for Darwin Nunez, who has endured a difficult season. The Uruguayan striker was called out for his 'unacceptable' work rate by Slot after dropping his head during the recent clash against Aston Villa and, like Salah, remains a top target for ambitious clubs in the Saudi Pro League. If Liverpool can earn their money back on their No.9, who is not first choice under Slot, then they may well cash in.

Harvey Elliott and Joe Gomez are two players who have struggled for first-team opportunities this term and may be inclined to look for opportunities elsewhere. Gomez is fourth choice at centre-back, behind Van Dijk, Ibrahima Konate and Jarrell Quansah.
Elliott has impressed whenever given the opportunity to play, but he wants to start more games and his preferred central midfield position is currently road-blocked. Interestingly, he could be targeted as a Florian Wirtz replacement by Bayer Leverkusen - Wirtz is Bayern Munich's chief target, but Manchester City and Liverpool themselves also hold an interest - with Brighton and Borussia Dortmund also potential destinations for Elliott.
Konate's situation is also in question. He's into the final 18 months of his deal and Paris Saint-Germain are making overtures to take him back to France. Liverpool bosses want him to sign a new deal, but if he doesn't, then they'll need to make a decision on keeping him until the end of his contract - and potentially leaving for nothing - or selling now.
Caoimhin Kelleher is another squad player who is expected to depart with Giorgi Mamardashvili incoming. Wataru Endo is another potential outgoing though Slot is a big fan of the Japan midfielder and his professionalism.
His situation will be decided by whether Endo is happy playing second fiddle.
