Paudie & David Clifford Caught The Eye With Amazing Irish Open Performance

The Irish Open is always a massive occasion in the sporting calendar in this country, although the event no longer just features the top golfers on the DP World Tour. You can also see plenty of big names from other sports, with GAA stars such as David Clifford, Paudie Clifford, and Ronan Maher on display during Wednesday's Pro Am.
The likes of Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry are the big draws at this week's tournament, although there were quite a few golf fans interested to see how some stars from other codes would cope with the K Club.
There were some top rugby talents on show, with Johnny Sexton, Josh van der Flier, Dan Sheehan, and Tommy Bowe taking to the course.
In saying that, it was a certain pair of Kerry brothers that would steal the show.

Paudie & David Clifford Produce Amazing Irish Open PerformanceThe talents of David Clifford and Paudie Clifford on a GAA pitch are well-known, but it turns out that the pair are also pretty handy on the golf course.
They would play alongside fellow All-Ireland winner Ronan Maher during yesterday's pro-am, with the trio featuring with South African golfer Jayden Schaper.
That team would end up second in the standings in what was a very talented field.
Speaking to the Irish Examiner, Tipperary All-Ireland winner Maher admitted he was very impressed with the Cliffords' ability on the course.
It was unbelievable. Serious footballers but serious golfers as well.
They’re top-class men and they’re great for the county of Kerry. I think the whole GAA are in awe of the two boys, they’ve been unbelievable.
I even went up to the All-Ireland football final just to see the two of them play and they were unreal too. So they’re great for the GAA.
Not bad.
It should perhaps come as no surprise that athletes as talented as the likes of David Clifford, Paudie Clifford, and Ronan Maher are also decent golfers.
Some people have all the luck.
