Ruben Amorim confirms Alejandro Garancho plan after Man Utd star's reaction to sub

Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim has confirmed he will talk to Alejandro Garnacho about his reaction to being substituted vs Ipswich.
The Argentine forward was sacrificed by Amorim in their 3-2 win against the Tractor Boys on Wednesday. After Patrick Dorgu had been sent off for a horror foul on Omari Hutchinson, Garnacho was replaced by former Bayern Munich fullback Noussair Mazraoui as Amorim attempted to bolster his defence.
But instead of taking his place on the bench, Garnacho decided to walk straight down the Old Trafford tunnel. Speaking in his post-match press conference, Amorim revealed he will hold talks with the young forward over the coming days.
He said: “It was cold and wet, rainy. The thing was we would play more in 5-3-1, then we make sub, we had to choose someone to go out. I had to think about set pieces, was my choice.”
Amorim added: “You are comparing with [Marcus] Rashford? I am going to talk about Garnacho with that. You can ask me at the next press conference.”
There was plenty of disappointment elsewhere at the change, with fans venting on social media and Rio Ferdinand disagreeing. He said: "I was surprised to see Alejandro Garnacho come off [after the red card] because he pushes the team the other way."
In the meantime, Garnacho took to social media just moments after the final whistle. He shared an image of him after his substitution on his Instagram story.
The incident is the second difficult situation Garnacho has been in under Amorim this season. He was brutally axed from the squad for their clash with local rivals Manchester City earlier this season.
And he has struggled for form throughout large swaths of the campaign with just eight goals in 40 appearances in all competitions. He was linked with a move to Napoli in the January transfer window but a move failed to materialise.

He will hope to make more of an impression at the weekend with United back in FA Cup action. Amorim's side take on Premier League rivals Fulham at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.
One man who won't be available for that game is defender Dorgu after his red card. And while Amorim did not argue against his dismissal, he still jumped to the defence of his fullback.
He added: "Players can have a mistake like Patrick today. The sending off, he wants to play the ball. He is ready for the Premier League. Last week he had a good performance against Everton, today they [the critics] will say he is not experienced enough for the Premier League, but I don't feel that way."
