Tiger Woods breaks his silence on Rory McIlroy's Masters victory as 2025 winner joins legend in exclusive club

Tiger Woods has congratulated his close friend and business partner Rory McIlroy on his first Masters win, as the Northern Irishman became just the sixth golfer ever to complete the Grand Slam.
McIlroy, who had not won a major since 2014, edged out Justin Rose in a painstaking playoff on Sunday and Woods - who did not compete at the tournament - was thrilled for his TGL co-founder.
'Welcome to the club @McIlroyRory. Completing the grand slam at Augusta is something special,' Woods began.
'Your determination during this round, and this entire journey has shown through, and now you’re a part of history. Proud of you!'
Woods, a five-time Masters winner, did not compete at Augusta this year due to a ruptured Achilles.
