Wrexham top Mansfield to continue promotion push

Wrexham maintained their push for promotion from League 1 with a 2-1 win over Mansfield Town on Sunday.
A comical Calum Macdonald own goal and a second-half Max Cleworth strike took the Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney-owned side to within three points of second-place Wycombe Wanderers.
The only blemish for Wrexham was the injury to Andy Cannon, who had to be stretchered off in the first half after a challenge with Louis Reed.
Wrexham took a 2nd-minute lead at One Call Stadium after Macdonald bundled into his own net from Ollie Rathbone's cross. But, the defender made amends in the 15th minute with a sliding finish to bring the hosts level.
Mansfield struggled to carry their momentum into the second half before Cleworth's low shot from outside the box near the hour-mark restored Wrexham's lead.
It was the centre-back's eighth goal of the season and proved the winner on the evening, as Wrexham took advantage of Wycombe and Birmingham City both dropping points this weekend.
