26 sexual offenses: Netflix actor sentenced to over 15 years in prison

Alexander Westwood, known from the Netflix series "Sex Education", has been sentenced to more than 15 years in prison. The 24-year-old actor is accused of 26 sexual offenses. His victims are mainly minors.
Alexander Westwood never had a leading role in a film or series. However, he was at least regularly seen as a supporting actor in the Netflix series "Sex Education". He played a nameless student for 17 episodes.
The fact that Westwood's name is now in the media has nothing to do with his acting talent. The 24-year-old was just found guilty of 26 sexual offences by a British court and sentenced to fifteen and a half years in prison. According to a report by the BBC, Westwood smiled in the dock when the verdict was read out.
The actor was found guilty in December of sexually assaulting a small child, a boy aged between nine and ten, two teenage girls and a woman. He is said to have abused one victim for eight years.
In his verdict, the judge in charge, Neil Chawla, accused Westwood of, among other things, exploiting his fame to assault impressionable, innocent young girls. The teenagers had asked Westwood for acting lessons.
restrictive contracts for the victimsAmong other things, Westwood was accused of the following crimes:
- fourfold rape of a woman over the age of 16
- coercion of a young girl and a boy into sexual activities
- seven cases of sexual assault on a woman
- three cases in which Westwood forced a child under the age of 13 to watch a sexual act
- three cases of physical assault of a girl under 13 years of age by touching
- Incitement of a girl under 13 years of age to sexual activities involving penetration
- three cases of penetration of a female person over 13 years of age against her will
Some of the victims described to the court how the actor made them submissive. He is said to have silenced his acting students with gagging contracts. In class, he forced them to take part in nude role-playing scenes.
The judge stated that he had seen no remorse from Westwood during the trial. "You are a serial sex offender and this has become part of your lifestyle," Neil Chawla ruled. Alexander Westwood himself denies the crimes.
