Potsdam: Police investigate sexual assault on bus

In January, a man is said to have attacked a woman in Potsdam. The police are investigating the case for sexual assault and are asking for information.

The police are looking for a man who is said to have attacked and sexually assaulted a woman in Potsdam . The wanted man is said to have initially attempted to make contact with the woman using gestures on a public bus on the night of January 18, the authorities said. The two got off at the Schilfhof stop in the Schlaatz district.

According to reports, the suspect attacked shortly afterwards and pulled her to the ground. He then allegedly tried to put his hand in the woman's intimate area. The victim was able to prevent further damage by pulling out a knife. A physical altercation ensued. The woman called for help, whereupon the man fled.

The criminal police are investigating for sexual assault and bodily harm.
