Security: A weapons ban will apply at these Berlin train stations in March

In order to curb the violence, the Berlin Federal Police Directorate is banning the carrying of dangerous objects at several Berlin train stations in March. These include knives, tear gas or striking tools, the Federal Police announced. This ban will apply from March 7 to March 31, daily from 2 p.m. to 4 a.m. the following day, and will end definitively on March 31 at 4 a.m.

The subway stations are not included in the regulation. The aim of this measure is to reduce the number of violent crimes and to protect both passengers and police officers.
The Federal Police emphasizes that this regulation is necessary because there have been repeated crimes involving dangerous objects. Federal Police officers will monitor compliance with the ban. In the event of violations, the objects in question can be confiscated and fines imposed.
