Column Washington DC: “Can you hold out?”

Reading time: 4 minutes
Dear concerned friends abroad: Musk and Trump, Bannon and JD Vance – their actions affect you too. We live the false life that people live in the USA on behalf of everyone else.
There is a sentence by Brecht that says that talking about trees is almost a crime because it involves remaining silent about so many crimes. Like many other people, I have known this sentence for a long time and have always found it a little too pathetic, and I still do today. Even if the world is sinking into filth and shame, you can still talk about trees with a clear conscience. It's not their fault that they are more beautiful and innocent than we humans.
