VANCOUVER, British Columbia - June 6, 2025 / IRW-Press / Battery X Metals Inc. (CSE: BATX)(OTCQB: BATXF)(FWB: 5YW, WKN: A40X9W) ("Battery X Metals" or the "Company"), a resource exploration and energy transition technology company, announces that further to the Company's news releases dated May 9, 2025, May 23, 2025, and May 30, 2025, its wholly-owned subsidiary, Battery X Rebalancing Technologies Inc. ("Battery X Rebalancing Technologies"), has expanded the functionality of its lithium-ion battery rebalancing hardware and software platform to a fully electric Class 3 commercial vehicle, or light electric truck (the "Electric Truck"), and has achieved promising results in an initial trial (the "Trial") on a 144-cell battery pack of the Electric trucks. It was demonstrated that the lithium nickel manganese cobalt oxide (NMC) battery pack of the electric truck (the "Electric Truck Battery Pack"), which had experienced significant natural imbalance under real-world conditions, was able to recover 100% of the capacity loss caused by the naturally occurring imbalance and restore 37.7% of its rated capacity (as defined in this press release).

The test results (the "Results") were conducted using the second-generation battery rebalancing device ("Prototype 2.0") developed and patent-pending by Battery X Rebalancing Technologies on the electric truck battery pack. The electric truck battery pack was rated at a nominal capacity of 176 ampere-hours (Ah) (the "Nominal Capacity"), which was indicated on the nameplate affixed to the electric truck battery pack.

The electric truck's battery was first fully charged using a 40-ampere (A) J1772 (Type 1) AC charging port. This Level 2 AC charging process, which complies with North American electric vehicle standards¹, was controlled by the vehicle's onboard systems. Once the instrument panel indicated a 100 percent state of charge and the charging application indicated that the vehicle no longer required power, Prototype 2.0 initiated its patent-pending battery rebalancing process. A rebalancing current of between 0 and 3 amps was then individually applied to each of the battery cells, and all were simultaneously charged to a target voltage of 4.20 volts (the "Voltage Target"). The Voltage Target is within the standard operating range of 3.0 volts to 4.20 volts for NMC lithium-ion cells, with 4.20 volts generally considered full charge capacity in the industry².

As the results show, a capacity of 66.3 Ah, previously lost due to battery cell imbalance, was successfully restored in the electric truck's battery pack. This corresponds to approximately 37.7 percent of the rated capacity of the unbalanced electric truck battery pack.

The restored capacity corresponds to the full theoretical balancing potential, based on achieving the voltage target for all battery cells combined, and reflects the complete restoration of the significant imbalance detected. These results were validated using the integrated software function of Prototype 2.0, which measures the ampere-hour capacity restored per cell by rebalancing. The software also determined the maximum deviation of a single cell of 66.3 Ah from the nominal capacity.

Battery X Rebalancing Technologies interprets these results as confirmation that the Prototype 2.0 is capable of restoring even a significant loss of battery cell capacity due to imbalance through precise voltage matching and active rebalancing at the cell level.

The expansion of functionality for the electric truck builds on several previous advances by Battery X Rebalancing Technologies, announced in the company's press release dated May 9, 2025. This press release stated that Battery X Rebalancing Technologies had signed a non-commercial scope of work agreement (the "Factor E Agreement") with Factor E Motors Ltd., a Vancouver-based automotive service center specializing in Tesla vehicles out of warranty. The Factor E Agreement is intended to advance the further development of Prototype 2.0. The initial focus will be on the battery packs currently in Factor E Motors' inventory for the Tesla Model 3 and Model X.

This progress was further expanded upon, as demonstrated by the company's press releases of May 23, 2025, and May 30, 2025, announcing the expansion of Prototype 2.0 development to include Nissan Leaf battery packs and confirming the successful rebalancing of an inherently unbalanced Nissan Leaf battery pack. This achievement marked a significant milestone in validating Prototype 2.0's compatibility with the second most popular out-of-warranty electric vehicle model in the United States.

Collectively, these initiatives reflect Battery X Rebalancing Technologies' commitment to demonstrating the adaptability of its technology across multiple real-world electric vehicle platforms and the growing demand for practical, cost-effective battery reconditioning solutions.

Significance of the results and market opportunities for the electric truck

The test results demonstrate that the Prototype 2.0 is capable of effectively rebalancing lithium-ion battery packs with significant, inherently unbalanced battery cells. This positive result follows the existing validation of Battery X Rebalancing Technologies' patent-pending rebalancing technology, which includes independent validation by the National Research Council of Canada (as detailed below), and the company's previous press release dated May 30, 2025, regarding the successful rebalancing of an inherently unbalanced battery pack in the Nissan Leaf, the second most popular out-of-warranty electric vehicle model in the United States.

It should be emphasized here that the results not only confirm the technical functionality of the Prototype 2.0 in a real-world electric vehicle platform, but also underscore its potential for restoring significant capacity losses. This result naturally has a very positive impact on the growing demand for practical, cost-effective solutions for restoring battery performance. The electric truck trial underscores the relevance of Battery X Rebalancing Technologies' patent-pending Prototype 2.0 under real-world conditions and signals the possibility of extending the service life of aging electric vehicle battery packs on a broader scale.

The electric truck and electric truck battery pack were provided to Battery X Rebalancing Technologies free of charge for testing and validation by an authorized Canadian electric truck dealer (the "Dealer"). This dealer claims to have a fleet of approximately 20 electric trucks (the "Electric Truck Fleet"). Several vehicles in this fleet reportedly experienced significant performance degradation due to battery cell imbalance. The development of the enhanced features and subsequent testing were initiated as a result of the dealer's expressed interest in a viable alternative to a complete battery replacement, which they believed could be prohibitively expensive.

The objective of the trial was to assess whether the Prototype 2.0 could successfully restore the performance of a battery pack from the electric truck fleet. The positive results will inform ongoing discussions with the dealer regarding the potential deployment of the Prototype 2.0 across the entire fleet to restore battery performance and extend its service life accordingly, while avoiding a potentially costly battery replacement.

The dealer also informed the company that approximately 700 electric trucks are currently in operation across Canada. These are owned by the electric truck dealer's parent company or by commercial fleet operators and private fleet owners. According to the dealer, many of these vehicles have experienced similar battery performance degradation due to battery cell imbalance. This presents a corresponding market opportunity for Battery X Rebalancing Technologies to position itself as a provider of a cost-effective rebalancing solution for electric vehicle owners seeking to avoid premature battery replacement.

In addition to these developments, Battery X Rebalancing Technologies is also accelerating the implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for rebalancing the electric truck battery pack, as well as the optimization of the user interface and workflow of the Prototype 2.0. These initiatives are part of a broader commercialization strategy and are not limited to business opportunities with individual third-party companies. The only exception is the electric truck-specific SOPs, which are being developed in direct response to the business opportunity associated with the trial.

There can be no assurance that Battery X Rebalancing Technologies will enter into commercial agreements with third parties at this time. While the company is optimistic based on progress to date and evident market demand, any future commercial agreement will require separate validation, negotiation, and operational readiness.

The problem: The increasing spread of electric vehicles poses new challenges to the life cycle of batteries

In 2024, approximately 17.1 million electric vehicles were sold worldwide, an increase of 25% compared to 20233. With total electric vehicle sales estimated at over 40 million units between 2015 and 20234, it is expected that the manufacturer's warranty for a significant portion of the global EV fleet will expire in the coming years.

By 2031, nearly 40 million electric, plug-in hybrid, and hybrid vehicles worldwide are expected to no longer be covered by their original manufacturer's warranty.5, 6 This forecast is based on current EV adoption figures and industry-standard warranty terms and conditions and highlights the growing risk for EV owners facing battery degradation, reduced capacity, and the need for costly replacement.7 As the global EV fleet continues to grow, demand is increasing for technologies that extend battery life, reduce long-term operating costs, and support a sustainable transition to electromobility.

The solution: Pioneering next-generation technologies to support the longevity of lithium-ion batteries

Battery X Rebalancing Technologies' proprietary software and hardware technology aims to address this challenge by extending the lifespan of EV batteries. This innovation is being developed to improve the sustainability of electromobility and provide electric vehicle owners with a more cost-effective and environmentally friendly experience by reducing the need for costly battery replacement.

Battery X Rebalancing Technologies' rebalancing technology, validated by the National Research Council of Canada ("NRC"), focuses on battery cell rebalancing. NRC validation demonstrated the technology's ability to effectively correct cell-to-cell imbalances in lithium-ion battery packs, restoring nearly all of the capacity lost due to cell-to-cell imbalances. Validation was performed on battery modules consisting of 15 series-connected 72 Ah LiFePO4 cells. The cells were initially brought to a uniform state of charge with a measured discharge capacity of 71.10 Ah. In the validation test, three of the 15 cells were then artificially unbalanced - one cell was charged to a 20% higher state of charge and two cells were discharged to a 20% lower state of charge - resulting in a reduced discharge capacity of 46.24 Ah after the balance was restored using Battery X Rebalancing Technologies' rebalancing technology.

Given these advances, Battery X Rebalancing Technologies is establishing itself as a participant in lithium-ion and EV battery solutions to address the critical challenges associated with battery pack capacity decline and costly replacement. By extending the lifecycle of battery materials within the supply chain, Battery X Rebalancing Technologies strives to support the energy transition and promote a more sustainable future.
