Coming from Ampega: Quirin Privatbank appoints Head of Portfolio Management

Elias Grass is the new Head of Portfolio Management at Quirin Privatbank. A spokesperson confirmed this information. According to the statement, Grass's portfolio management responsibilities include developing strategies and selecting products. Grass is also a member of the private bank's investment committee and reports to Philipp Dobbert, Head of Asset Management and Chief Economist .
Grass will be responsible for assets of over 7 billion eurosGrass leads a team of four employees in portfolio management. The team works not only for Quirin Privatbank, but also for Quirion, the bank's digital asset manager. Thus, the assets under management by portfolio management total €7.6 billion.
Before joining, Grass worked for Ampega Asset Management, the asset manager of the Talanx insurance group. Most recently, he held a portfolio manager position there, managing multi-asset and pension funds, as well as securities and fund selection. He began his professional career in 2009 at Warburg-Henderson in Hamburg. Starting in 2012, he also worked for Hansemerkur Trust in the northern German Hanseatic city, first as a risk manager and then as a portfolio manager. In 2018, he joined Ampega.
At Quirin Privatbank, Grass succeeds Marcus Müller, who previously headed portfolio management – and gave up this position due to a move . Müller now lives in Bilbao, and thus in Spain. He nevertheless continues to work for Quirin Privatbank. He is responsible for alternative investments as a senior portfolio manager and performs this role in a hybrid capacity, partly from Spain and partly from the private bank's Berlin office.
