|The Essen-based specialty chemicals company now has more female than male board members. The female managers must further reduce costs – and they want to accelerate their efforts.
This proportion of women is among the highest among German industrial companies: At the Essen-based specialty chemicals group Evonik , three of the five members of the Executive Board are women, since Lauren Kjeldsen of the US and Claudine Mollenkopf of France joined the board in April. The third member is Chief Financial Officer Maike Schuh. Kjeldsen and Mollenkopf are responsible for the two most important business areas of the MDAX member – and must directly implement ambitious targets there.
