Would I call myself a fan of actress Dakota Johnson ? That's hard to say. I can't remember ever seeing a film with her on the big screen. And the hype surrounding "Fifty Shades of Grey" at the time completely passed me by. And yet: I found her more recent performances in the Netflix film "Persuasion" and the comedy " Cha Cha Real Smooth " consistently convincing – and I could actually imagine going back to the cinema to see her upcoming film "The Materialists" with Pedro Pascal and Chris Evans.

What I am definitely a fan of, however, is style icon Dakota Johnson. Okay, the Hollywood star's outfits aren't particularly unusual or innovative. But in my case, they don't have to be. I wouldn't describe my personal style as particularly imaginative either. I have my essentials ( wide jeans , oversized blazer , sneakers ) that I like to rely on, and I usually wear simple, understated colors. Maybe that's why the actress's everyday looks appeal to me so much - because they're looks that I can draw inspiration from for my own outfits without deviating from my personal style.

For me personally, however, a particular detail of Dakota Johnson's styling was the highlight – something I never would have expected. The actress's red handbag literally stuck in my head – even though I can count the number of red pieces in my wardrobe on one hand.

Dakota Johnson paired the bright red model from The Row with a brown blazer, a black top, and wide-legged gray trousers. The black of the top was also reflected in her choice of shoes ( classic loafers ). Black would have been a conceivable and stylish option for the handbag, too. Instead, Dakota Johnson opted for the small model in tomato red— one of the trend colors for summer 2025, after all .
