Having & Being: May brings everything new!

Orange blossoms are a perfect fit for May, as it's considered the wedding month, and a wreath of the pure white buds (symbolizing, well, innocence) has long been a traditional royal bridal adornment, from Queen Victoria to the embroidery on Grace Kelly's pillbox cap. The essential oil is also one of the oldest ingredients in fragrance production, especially neroli essence, which is extracted from bitter oranges. L'Artisan Parfumeur now draws on this tradition with "Histoire d'Orangers Extrême." Marie Salamagne's composition is gentle yet fresh, but the perfumer, known for her oriental predilection, has also added intense notes of sun-dried blossoms and cedarwood. This adds depth and expands the occasion. Suitable not only for wedding celebrations, but now for any warm evening with a Mediterranean atmosphere.

She has been an integral part of Munich's creative scene for decades: Saskia Diez has long since achieved international recognition with her jewelry creations and collaborations, and has even adorned numerous celebrities. Until now, the coveted items, from delicate rings to kinky curb chains, were available either online or in a somewhat hidden, tiny shop on Geyerstrasse, which was usually only frequented by friends and family. That is about to change, because this week Diez opened a large store at Reichenbachstrasse 35 – close to Gärtnerplatz and thus the epicenter of the city's young and beautiful hedonists. "It's unusual for me to have the space to display all my things," said Diez at the opening, for which she built two large pyramids of champagne glasses in the display, into whose bowls her jewelry pours. To celebrate the opening, Saskia Diez is presenting limited editions: keychains in collaboration with the Japanese ceramic artist shokki in ice cream colors, each piece unique. Diez has also designed a small collection of temporary tattoos that can be painlessly applied and removed after a few days. Also great for the summer and to try out in the new store – the sunglasses collection that Saskia Diez designed in collaboration with the brand Marc O'Polo.

Toms actually stands for objectified good: for every pair of shoes purchased, a child in need somewhere in the world receives a pair as a gift. "One for one" is the principle that founder Blake Mycoskie came up with in 2006; it has made him and his brand famous and successful. The company is also a B-Corp certified, and a third of the proceeds are donated. But simply doing good is obviously no longer enough. That's why Toms itself is now entering into a "celebrity" collaboration. The sought-after Hollywood stylist Jamie Mizrahi , who has worked for Adele, Jennifer Lawrence and Jeremy Allen White, among others, designed the limited collection "The Monochrome Edit", which has just been released. As expected, the upper and sole are the same color, and instead of sturdy cotton, black, amber or cherry red leather has been used. I wonder if these star slippers will now have a child somewhere?
