Jennie Garth & Peter Facinelli Reunite at Daughter’s Graduation
Jennie Garth and Peter Facinelli are celebrating a family milestone.
The former couple, who were married from 2001 to 2013, reunited for a very special occasion as they watched their daughter Fiona, 18, collect her diploma at her high school graduation.
“She did it,” Jennie wrote in a post on Instagram June 2. “My baby girl graduated high school!”
In the photo carousel, Jennie, 53, included a group pic in which she and her ex posed alongside Fiona and their elder daughters Luca, 27, and Lola, 22, as well as Jennie’s current husband David Abrams, whom she wed in 2015. The Beverly Hills 90210 alum also shared a sweet clip of the clan firing confetti as the graduate’s name was called during the ceremony.
“I am so beyond proud of her,” Jennie gushed of Fiona’s academic achievement. “My heart is filled with so much excitement to see her fly!”
The event marked a high point in Jennie and Peter’s renewed friendship after she previously admitted their post-split relationship wasn’t always smooth sailing.
“For so many years, it wasn't as fun as it could have been,” she told E! News earlier this year. “We made it seem like it was great and it was all rainbows and ponies, but it was not at times.”
Jennie pointed to Peter’s appearance on her I Choose Me podcast in November as a turning point for them, noting that she and the Twilight star—who shares son Jack, 2, with Lily Anne Harrison—were able to “reconnect as just people, instead of like a divorced couple.”
“We were together for 17 years,” she continued, “and I love his fiancée and his new son. It's just nice to be open and be easy.”
In fact, the exes’ relationship improved so dramatically that Peter, 51, invited Jennie and David to stay at his home amid the Los Angeles wildfire evacuations in January, explaining that he “could never imagine saying no.”
“I love her,” he told E! News at the time. “She's the mother of my kids. I consider her a friend. I consider her husband a friend.”
