Collective bargaining conflict: strike at Munich Airport

Due to a warning strike by the Verdi union, most connections at Munich Airport will be cancelled on Thursday and Friday. The airlines are expected to cancel most of the more than 1,600 planned flights, the airport announced. Travellers should find out about the status of their flight as early as possible. If the flight is cancelled, they should not even go to the airport, but contact the airline or travel agent.
Verdi called on public sector employees and ground handling services at Germany's second-largest airport to go on strike. The union wants to increase the pressure in the current round of wage negotiations in the public sector.
