|John Bolton has repeatedly criticized the US president, loudly and publicly. Now Trump is ordering a raid: his former national security adviser is alleged to have illegally stored documents. He is not the only Trump critic under investigation.
John Bolton probably wasn't all that surprised when the FBI arrived. "I think it's a presidency of retaliation," Donald Trump's former national security advisor told ABC two weeks ago. He was once one of the US president's closest associates and has long been one of his most prominent critics – he must have suspected what this meant. Now Trump's investigators are targeting Bolton, and not just him.
