In the evening, a large fire broke out near the Zeithain barracks. However, with the help of the rain, it was quickly and successfully extinguished. The rain also helped calm the situation in other areas that evening. Firefighting operations are scheduled to resume by helicopter this morning.

According to the Federal Agricultural Information Center, 463 fires destroyed approximately 334 hectares of forest last year. The long-term average was 844 hectares.
