USA loses last “AAA” rating from Moody's

Over the years, the US government and the US Congress have failed to take any action to counter the "trend of large annual budget deficits and rising interest costs," Moody's stated. The budget plans currently under discussion also do not suggest that government spending and deficits in the world's largest economy could be reduced.
The White House reacted angrily. Communications Director Steven Cheung criticized Moody's Chief Economist Mark Zandi. Cheung wrote on Platform X that he was a political opponent of US President Donald Trump : "Nobody takes his 'analyses' seriously." These have been proven wrong time and time again.
