AI-based business models play a major role in the startup scene across Europe
The startup event VivaTech has selected the 100 most exciting young tech companies in Europe, including 36 from Germany. The focus is on AI innovations, digital sovereignty, and new approaches to energy, healthcare, and finance. We highlight the tech trends currently shaping the startup landscape.
For the first time, Viva Technology has published a ranking of the "Top 100 Rising European Startups for 2025" – a list of young companies with high disruption potential and strong growth. Germany stands out in this list: 36 of the top 100 are headquartered here, followed by France with 22 companies and the United Kingdom with 17. Particularly strong representation is in the areas of artificial intelligence – from agents and models to middleware tools – as well as developer tools and FinTech. This year's top 100 come from a total of 13 different countries.
