Conference League: Chelsea FC wins final against Sevilla

Wroclaw. Chelsea FC has won the Conference League final, making football history. With their 4-1 (0-1) victory over Real Betis, the Blues became the first club to win all major European club competitions.
The English Premier League club had previously triumphed in the Champions League (2012 and 2021), Europa League (2013 and 2019), the defunct European Cup Winners' Cup (1971 and 1998) and the UEFA Super Cup (1998 and 2021).
Sevilla's defeat in the final in Wroclaw, Poland, also ended an impressive streak in Spanish football: for the first time since the start of the 2001/02 season, a final with Spanish participation in the Champions League, Europa League or Conference League did not end with a victory for a Spanish team.
Sevilla got off to a perfect start in their first European Cup final, taking a deserved lead through Abde Ezzalzouli in the 9th minute. Betis remained the better team for much of the game, with Chelsea offering little attacking potential. However, the fourth-placed side from the previous Premier League season improved after the break and secured the win thanks to goals from Enzo Fernández (65th minute), Nicolas Jackson (70th minute), former Dortmund player Jadon Sancho (83rd minute), and Moises Caicedo (90th minute +1 minute).
Before kickoff, riots broke out on the streets of Wrocław. According to the PAP news agency, police also used stun grenades and water cannons against English and Spanish fans who were causing unrest in the city's market square. A total of more than 20 people were arrested. Isolated riots also occurred on Tuesday.
Poland's Prime Minister Donald Tusk declared in a post on Platform X: "Zero tolerance for violence on our streets!" He thanked the police for "decisive action against hooligans in Chelsea and Betis jerseys in Wroclaw" and warned on Wednesday: "If necessary, the police will act even more mercilessly today!"
