The very first Club World Cup poll: A slap in the face for FIFA President Infantino

The Bundesliga Barometer, exclusively for FOCUS online, reveals shocking figures about the XXL tournament with 32 teams. Only the two German teams remain optimistic.
A representative survey of 6,003 German football fans at least reveals a clear picture of the mood. According to the Bundesliga Barometer , only 2.4 percent stated after the first matchday that they were "very interested" in the XXL tournament.
The crazy thing is: Before the tournament started, that figure was 8.4 percent. This means nothing less than this: After the tournament started and was broadcast on DAZN and Sat.1, the curiosity of three out of four fans evaporated – a slap in the face for the FIFA boss.
And the disapproval is growing: 35.3 percent of respondents now say they are "not at all" interested in the Club World Cup – an increase from 21 percent before the tournament began. The number of those who are "less interested" has also climbed from 25 to 29.8 percent.
All of this has a lot to do with the mixed quality of the 32 tournament teams. The "attractiveness of the games" and the "level of play" receive grades between three ("satisfactory") and four ("adequate"). And in empty stadiums, the atmosphere is simply not up to scratch: a grade of four.
German fans are reasonably satisfied with the two German participants. Bayern received a grade of two for their 10-0 win against Auckland City's amateurs. Dortmund, on the other hand, were penalized for their 0-0 draw with Fluminense : a mere four.
The anger over the mega-event doesn't diminish the fans' confidence in how their teams will perform. Over 90 percent of respondents believe Bayern Munich will beat Boca Juniors on Saturday night, and Borussia Dortmund will beat Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday.
But that doesn't help FIFA President Infantino either: people don't like his Club World Cup.
