The small town of Rogowo in Poland's West Pomerania region is quite inconspicuous, but hidden behind the dense pine forests lies a true gem: Rogowo's wide, sandy beach. The dark forest perched atop the dunes gives the town a mystical touch, making it worth a visit even in inclement weather. The wind conditions are also ideal for kitesurfing and windsurfing.

Until 1935, Rogowo was a small fishing village with thatched houses. Today, nothing of this remains. Large apartment buildings and hotels dominate the town. As you walk through Rogowo, you'll notice a monument with a large cross on the street. It was erected in commemoration of a plane crash in 1945 in which several children who were being evacuated perished.

The island of Wolin is also located in West Pomerania, and there you'll find an idyllic little beach called Międzyzdroje. The best part: The Volinsky National Park is right next door, allowing you to combine a beach holiday with an active vacation. The beach itself, while not very long, is wide and boasts the mildest climate on the Baltic coast.

The nearly two-kilometer-long beach promenade with its pier is ideal for an evening stroll. From here, you can watch beautiful sunsets. While you're on the beach in Międzyzdroje, it's also worth visiting Poland's most famous animals, the bison. The park with its exhibition area is located east of the town.

Łeba is a popular holiday resort on Poland's Baltic coast. It's no wonder, as the beach is full of soft sand and its width provides enough space for everyone. The town is located in Pomerania, about 50 kilometers west of the Bay of Gdańsk. The beach itself rivals those in the Caribbean; you'll find Poland's finest sand here.

A highlight in Łeba are the mighty shifting dunes in the Słowiński National Park. They are also the reason why the sand didn't always bring good things in the past. The shifting dunes swallowed everything in their path, forcing many people to relocate as early as the 16th century. A church sunk into the sand still stands as a reminder of that time.

Ustka is a Polish port city in Western Pomerania, located directly at the mouth of the Slupia River. Along with Sopot, Świnoujście, and Kołobrzeg, it is one of the most popular spa towns on the Polish Baltic coast. Ustka is known primarily for its numerous brine springs, moors, and a large fishing fleet.

But that's not all: The beach is also a real highlight. The sand is fine, and the sea is blue in good weather. Compared to other Polish beaches, however, the Baltic Sea here is quite rough. Not only can you spend wonderful days on the beach in Ustka, the old town is also worth a visit. Here you'll find picturesque half-timbered houses and small fishermen's cottages in the Captain's Quarter.

In the Pomeranian Voivodeship, about 40 kilometers from Gdańsk, you'll find the beautiful Jastarnia Beach. The area is located on a very narrow strip of land, the Hel Peninsula. Kitesurfing and windsurfing are especially popular here, as the conditions are ideal. You can choose whether you want to swim in the open sea or on the other side of the peninsula in Puck Bay.

The town is small and manageable, but popular with tourists, so it has the appropriate infrastructure. All the beaches on the Hel Peninsula are particularly fine and considered very upscale. Therefore, prices in the surrounding area are somewhat higher than in other places on the Polish Baltic coast.

White beaches and wild dunes can be found at Lubiatowo Beach on Poland's Baltic coast. The seaside resort is located in the Pomeranian Voivodeship, making it almost centrally located along the coast. If you don't want to spend your beach holiday in a place overrun by tourists, Lubiatowo is the place to be.

Before you reach the beach, you can stroll through the mystical dune forest. It also offers a great way to cool off on hot days. Since the town is small and not particularly touristy, there are few shopping opportunities; the nearby towns of Koszalin and Słupsk are more suitable.

The beach in Chałupy is the most popular nudist beach on the Polish Baltic coast and is also located on the Hel Peninsula. It is surrounded by a pine grove and thus well protected. In the 1960s, nude sunbathing was widely celebrated here; now, the nudist area is limited to the eastern side of the beach.
