Directv will now compete with cell phones in Colombia: these are the company's new plans.

Directv Colombia announced the launch of Directv Móvil, its nationwide mobile service supported by 4G and 5G networks.
The Colombian telecommunications market has added a new virtual player, and the company is now continuing its diversification strategy, adding a new business line to its portfolio, which currently includes pay TV, streaming, insurance, financial services, and partnerships with platforms such as Amazon Prime Video and the corporate travel agency Mundea.
Directv Móvil's operating model is based on an agreement with Tigo, which allows it to operate as a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO).
According to the company, this ensures robust coverage and quality service , with the possibility of simple activation and portability so users can keep their current number.
"With Directv Mobile, we're taking another step forward in our strategy of diversification and customer proximity. We want to be that ally that accompanies Colombians not only in their entertainment, but also in their daily connectivity. This is a key step in the evolution of our brand in the country," said Alejandro Nigro, manager of Directv Colombia.

The new offering includes three monthly plans under the prepaid modality with a controlled account:
- 55 GB for $39,900
- 110 GB for $59,900
- 150 GB for $99,900
All plans include unlimited minutes and SMS, free use of WhatsApp, Facebook, and Instagram, and are valid for 30 days.
The company noted that the service can be easily paid for through digital platforms such as Nequi, Daviplata, and PSE .
The idea, as Nigro explained, is for the company to consolidate itself as a comprehensive service provider, combining technology, connectivity, and entertainment in a single portfolio to compete in a market with high demand and growing convergence between telecommunications and content.
