New EPS responds to viral video of elderly man who fainted while waiting for his medications

Recently, a video went viral on social media showing an elderly man fainting while waiting for his medications outside the Nueva EPS.
The images show how the man, who was identified as Prudencio Augusto García , is helped by other women who witnessed the worrying minutes and who also called for an ambulance to take the grandfather to a health center.

"Call an ambulance. Who can take his pulse? The man is very cold ," is heard saying throughout the video.
The events are believed to have occurred last Wednesday, February 19, during the day.
"That man has been here for hours since this morning. It's your fault ," said the woman who recorded the content.
What does Nueva EPS say? Once the distressing images became known, Nueva EPS issued a statement on the matter, stating that the man was promptly treated.
"Nueva EPS regrets the situation that occurred with our member Prudencio Augusto García , who suffered an accident at one of the pharmaceutical operators that dispenses medicines to the EPS," said the Health Promotion Company.
They added: "A recurring audit was immediately coordinated to identify barriers and present strategies to reduce new failures in the provision of this service."
It was also learned that García received his medication on the same day that the incident allegedly occurred "and there were no errors in its dispensing."
Nueva EPS emphasized that: "Our priority as a Health Promotion Company is to guarantee the provision of health care to our members with the best conditions available."
