Expert explains the keys to executive education to face management challenges

In a live broadcast on EL TIEMPO, Jaime Marín, Director of Open Programs – Executive Education at the Faculty of Administration of the Universidad de los Andes, presented a set of programs aimed at strengthening the skills of business leaders, in order to face the volatility and uncertainty of the market.
The initiative responds to the growing need of managers who need to update their skills and respond quickly to organizational demands.
Marín indicated that executive education focuses on offering specific tools for managerial positions and does not lead to formal degrees, such as master's degrees or specializations, but rather to certificates that demonstrate the acquisition of practical knowledge. Under this model, the expert highlighted five areas of training considered critical today:
- Understanding economic volatility and the ability to maneuver in the face of unexpected changes.
- The search for strategies to sustain or expand businesses, even in complex scenarios.
- Understanding technological advances and identifying opportunities to integrate new tools into business operations.
- People management, with an emphasis on diversity and adaptation to working generations with different motivations.
- Sustainability, understood as a strategic component that seeks to balance profitability and social responsibility.
According to Marín, executive education programs allow participants to exchange experiences with other professionals in leadership roles , which enriches the discussion of real cases and facilitates the adoption of comprehensive solutions.
For those who wish to acquire specific skills and certifications without spending several years on a postgraduate course, these courses represent a way to update themselves, strengthen their performance and improve their competitiveness in the labour market.
The Universidad de los Andes, with several programs aimed at executives, invites interested parties to explore options that respond to their specific needs, taking into account aspects such as duration, thematic focus and the immediate applicability of the content in their organizations.
These programs aim to contribute to strengthening managerial skills that enable students to face changing corporate scenarios and lead teams effectively.
