Heavy rains are expected in several areas of the country this week: find out the forecast

According to the forecast of the Institute of Hydrology, Meteorology and Environmental Studies (Ideam), a significant increase in cloudiness is expected this week, which will increase the probability of rain in large sectors of the Pacific, Andean and Amazon regions, as well as in the center and south of the Caribbean and Orinoquía regions.
On the other hand, in Bogotá, partly to mostly cloudy skies are expected throughout the week, with possible light to moderate rain at different times of the day. This is the weather forecast for this week that closes February:
Weather forecast for Monday, February 24 For the afternoon and evening today, a gradual increase in cloudiness and rain is expected. In the Pacific region, heavy rain is expected, especially in the departments of Chocó, Valle del Cauca, Cauca and Nariño.
In the Andean region, rainfall will be variable, affecting mainly Antioquia, Caldas, Quindío, Risaralda, Tolima, Huila, Cundinamarca and Boyacá, as well as specific areas of Norte de Santander and Santander.
In the Amazon region, the heaviest rainfall events are forecast in Putumayo and Caquetá, with moderate rainfall in specific areas of Guainía, Vaupés, Guaviare and Amazonas. In the Orinoquía region, scattered rainfall is expected, mainly in the south of Vichada and large sectors of Meta.

Cloudiness is expected to spread and the probability of rain will increase in large parts of the Pacific region, the center and south of the Caribbean region, much of the Andean region, the Amazon, and the center and south of the Orinoquia region.
The heaviest rainfall could be concentrated in the departments of Chocó, Valle del Cauca, Cauca, Nariño, Antioquia, southern Córdoba, central and southern Bolívar, Cesar, Magdalena, scattered sectors of Santanderes, Cundinamarca, Tolima, Caldas, Risaralda, Quindío, Meta, Caquetá, Putumayo, Guaviare and in scattered areas of Vaupés and Amazonas.
Dry conditions will be present in Arauca, Casanare and northern Vichada. For the Archipelago of San Andrés, Providencia and Santa Catalina, a mostly dry day is expected, with slightly cloudy skies.

By the middle of the work week, dry weather will be most noticeable in the northern Orinoquía regions (specifically in Arauca and northern Vichada) and the Caribbean (La Guajira), where rainfall is expected to be minimal or almost non-existent.
In contrast, rain will continue to be a constant in other regions of the country, especially in the Pacific, Andean and Caribbean, central and southern areas, as well as in the Amazon region. Departments such as Chocó, Cauca, Nariño, Antioquia, Meta and Amazonas are expected to experience rain of varying intensity, ranging from isolated showers to moderate rainfall, especially in mountainous areas. In these areas, storms and occasional electrical activity are expected.
The Archipelago of San Andrés, Providencia and Santa Catalina is expected to have a sky between slightly and partly cloudy, with predominantly dry weather.

For today, an increase in cloudiness and rain is expected in the south and east of the Orinoquía region. In the Pacific, Andean and Amazon regions, mostly cloudy skies will prevail, accompanied by light to moderate rainfall.
Rain is also expected in parts of the Caribbean region. The heaviest rainfall could be concentrated during the early morning, as well as in the afternoon and evening, with the possibility of electrical activity and gusts of wind. In the Archipelago of San Andrés, Providencia and Santa Catalina, a mostly sunny day is expected, with some clouds and a low probability of rain.

Weather conditions are expected to be mostly dry in large areas of the Orinoquía region and in the north of the Caribbean region, with clear to slightly cloudy skies. In contrast, rainy conditions and predominantly cloudy skies are expected in the Pacific region. The most intense and persistent rainfall will especially affect the departments of Chocó, Valle del Cauca, Cauca and Nariño, where isolated thunderstorms could also occur.
In the Andean region, rain is expected, mainly in Antioquia, Risaralda, Quindío, Caldas, Santander, Norte de Santander, Boyacá, Cundinamarca, Huila and Tolima. In the Caribbean region, departments such as Bolívar, Magdalena, Cesar, Córdoba and Sucre will experience unstable conditions, with moderate to heavy rains, although intermittent.
In the east and south of the Amazon, rainfall will be significant but scattered. Finally, in the Archipelago of San Andrés, Providencia and Santa Catalina, weather conditions will be mostly dry, with clear to partly cloudy skies.
