Las Rozas Village celebrates 25 years of history with an ode to craftsmanship

Las Rozas Village is a benchmark for luxury shopping in Madrid, and this year marks its anniversary. The open-air shopping center, located about 30 minutes from the center of the capital and home to 100 boutiques of national and international brands, is turning 25. To celebrate, it's paying tribute to Spanish fashion and craftsmanship, with the collaboration of various artisans, until September 7th. The shopping center is transformed into a space where textiles come to life through designer and researcher Regina Dejiménez and artisans Altehia and Sara Moreno . The Textiles exhibition is the second installment of Mano a Mano , a project that focuses on giving craftsmanship the value it deserves, and which began with a tribute to ceramics.

Regina Dejiménez is the only resident artist in this second exhibition at the venue. The Next Salon is the name given to a work that becomes a textile refuge in the Glass House at Las Rozas Village. With her work, the designer and researcher seeks to demonstrate the boundaries between art, design, and craftsmanship by combining sculpture , design objects , and experimental textiles based on research into natural phenomena and the transformation of matter.

With its aesthetics, through contemplation and tranquility , the exhibition curated by Regina Dejiménez seeks to show an area that evokes relaxation, comfort and beauty.

Her pieces, made using innovative textile techniques, belong to her Next Home line, showcasing the artist's view of the universe through changing visual narratives.

Aletheia brings color to every boulevard in Las Rozas Village
Aletheia creation process Las Rozas Village

The firm founded by Gavina Ligas and Ayoko Yakota , Aletheia , is responsible for the eight textile arches that cross the complex, filling the place with color , memory , and craftsmanship . These structures, dyed using a proprietary technique of partial immersion and superimposing natural dyes, create a play of light and shadow, perfect for summer.

The aesthetic value of the work is a silent manifesto against accelerated and ephemeral production. The use of the Japanese technique of kintsugi , which consists of repairing cracks in ceramics with gold , makes errors appear as an essential part of the work, demonstrating that imperfections can also shine in their own right.

Knot by knot: a sustainable 'therapy'
The art of making with your hands: macramé Las Rozas Village

Macramé also conquers space through Sara Moreno , known as Fruto Samore , and her #knottherapy. Her works have a single purpose: to give greater value to artisanal art and sustainability.

Sara Moreno performs this hand -woven technique using her own brand of materials, which are known for their sustainability and respect for natural materials . This brand belongs to the global organization 1% for the Planet , donating part of its profits to environmental protection.

With her works, the artisan shows how her work takes care of both form and substance.

With this exhibition, Las Rozas Village becomes an open-air museum where the true value of craftsmanship is highlighted through textiles in an original way.
