The life-changing events of the drug dealer arrested at gunpoint with the largest shipment of pills in the history of Spain

Gurchettan Chet Sandhu is known as the drug dealer arrested with the largest drug shipment in the history of Spain. In 1999, he was arrested in Alicante at gunpoint and, since then, his life of luxury changed radically. 25 years later, El Español has been able to speak with him and review his history of crime.
This British drug dealer is known for having been one of the most notorious criminals in the United Kingdom. In his interview with the aforementioned media, he recalls how he built a fortune through the illegal trafficking of anabolic steroids and pills.
Chet explains that he is known as the king of Karachi because, from the age of 25 and after working as a doorman, he began making trips to this city in Pakistan to buy narcotics that he then sold in the United Kingdom.
'Modus operandi' The trafficker says he bribed the Pakistani police with pornographic magazines and money to obtain the substancesHe travelled there every six weeks: “It was the cheapest place in the world to get steroids and Valium. I had to bribe the Pakistani police with pornographic magazines and money,” says the trafficker. After getting it, he had to cross half the planet with an illegal shipment: a very risky plan, but also very lucrative.
Chet bought drugs from organisations linked to Al Qaeda. He then transported 75 kilos of pills and steroids hidden in his luggage and body with other colleagues, with the local authorities ignoring him. On each of these trips, he made a profit of 7,000 pounds.
All that money allowed him to “do what he wanted: drive cars, go on vacation. It changes the way people see you, you walk the way you want in the club, all the girls come to you, you have drugs, money, women…”, he tells El Español .

After being informed that he was at risk of being arrested on his usual route, instead of going through Amsterdam as he usually did, he went to Alicante, where he also ended up arrested. He says that "Interpol was watching me and at the airport they arrested me at gunpoint with 250,000 pills," the largest shipment seized to date in the history of Spain.
Chet was sentenced to three years in Fontcalent prison, which he describes as “the worst in Europe” at the time. He says that he spent the worst years of his life there and feared leaving without a life. After being released in 2001, he was sentenced again in 2003 to six years for crimes related to cocaine and prostitution.
However, after surviving his second prison sentence, Chet decided to change the direction of his life. He has created a CBD (cannabis oil) company and helps orphaned children around the world. “I personally go to India, Vietnam, South Africa or Pakistan and buy them shoes, materials, computers... I never send the money because I know there are people who keep it,” he said.
