30% of Spanish minors consume pornography on the internet.

The European Union wants to set limits on underage pornography consumption. It is expected that, in the short term, all member countries will begin using effective age verification solutions to prevent children from entering these types of spaces. And Spain is expected to be one of the first to begin testing these types of tools in the pilot phase . According to a recent study by GfK DAM, the official digital audience measurement firm in Spain, 30% of all minors living in Spain consume pornography; or, in other words, almost 1.3 million children.
According to the study, minors are spending an average of two and a quarter hours per month watching this type of content. This is 37% more time than other segments such as millennials, who are already in their thirties and forties. The gender gap is notable in the results ; boys spend 2 hours and 42 minutes, while girls spend 1 hour and 28 minutes.
Minors also spend a lot of time on gambling sites , spaces that will soon be restricted to them through effective age verification systems. Specifically, almost 30% of the population under 18 (close to 1.2 million users) visit these platforms, spending an average of 1 hour and 10 minutes per person per month. This time significantly exceeds the population average (50 minutes) and that of millennials (33 minutes). The gender disparity is even more dramatic in this area: women spend only 11 minutes per month, while men spend 1 hour and 43 minutes.
Countries like the United Kingdom have already implemented age verification systems to prevent minors from accessing these sites. However, many have managed to circumvent the restrictions by using VPN applications , which allow you to trick websites into thinking you're browsing from a different country and bypass the barriers.
