Press this button when withdrawing money from an ATM to prevent your bank account from being stolen.

Paying by card or with or from a mobile phone is gradually becoming the most common method, but the truth is that cash remains the preferred method. Although its daily use has decreased, the latest report from the Bank of Spain from November 2024 indicates that cash continues to be the most widely used payment method in our country.
"Cash is the most commonly used payment method in physical stores for 59% of the population, followed by cards (30%, up from 32% in 2023) and mobile devices, which are the primary payment method for 11% of consumers," the document explains.
This means that, even if we don't think so, people still have cash at home, and since salaries are no longer paid in cash, citizens' only option is to withdraw money from ATMs. We've already heard of techniques and scams involving hacking these ATMs or swapping parts to copy and steal your card details, but now experts are warning of a new, much simpler method that, fortunately, can be avoided with a simple gesture.
This is because when we withdraw money, the ATM, in addition to asking for our credentials, asks us two questions: the first is "Are you going to make another transaction?" and the next is "Do you want a receipt for the transaction?" Well, according to experts, what we do after this second question can save us from being scammed.
Whether or not you issue a receipt for the transaction may seem irrelevant, but you should keep in mind that these receipts contain confidential information , such as the account balance or details of account and card numbers , data that can be used by criminals to carry out fraud or theft.
For this reason, cybersecurity experts point out that it's always best not to print this receipt, and to press the "cancel" button when the option to print the receipt appears to complete the process. Furthermore, it used to make more sense, with the goal of controlling your spending, but today , with the existence of banking apps on our phones, you can have even more complete control and access this information as often as you want without having to take out this receipt.
